Directions: On this wiki page, list your initial topics and related questions for inquiry. Be sure to put your name. After this initial step, you will create your own wiki page to further develop your ideas (use your topic name/focus for the page link). On your topic page wiki, you can post information about your topic, including process notes and even writing in progress, as well as possible sources, as needed. You will also want to further develop your inquiry question, and related questions, about your particular topic.

Example:

Dr. Y -- I am a big fan of Sherlock Holmes, and I have been interested in learning more about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the evolution of the detective series he crafted. Some initial key questions: How did Doyle come up with the Holmes character and to what extent did it originate or reflect the profession of the detective at the time? And/or how far did Doyle's work go in terms of helping to shape the profession into the future?

Matt Sellek- I have always been an avid watcher of movies, but know that I do not actually have a real understanding on the history of film, something I have always wanted to understand better, especially to how they affect film today. Some questions I would start off with are: How are older films affecting the way films are being made now? What are the pivotal films that crossed a milestone in storytelling? Where can we expect films to go from here?

Lauren Fabian- I’ve always enjoyed Frank Sinatra’s music. The big band, jazzy, sometimes bluesy sound with the romantic, glitzy, sometimes pessimistically realistic lyrics. I also love his overall vibe: the smooth, relaxed, classy, dashing suit, and martini lifestyle. I think he’s classy yet real, an intriguing brand. Some initial questions: How much involvement did “Ol’ Blue Eyes” really have in the composition of the music and/or lyrics? What were his favorite performances and/or songs (well known or not) and why? How did this dapper lifestyle evolve, and when he first tipped that fedora did he know how influential he’d be?

Jenn Duncan- I am going to do an I-search project on an education topic: differentiated instruction. What does this look like in the classroom? How do you plan this as an instructor? How do you do this type of instruction without "dumbing" down the material? Jennifer D Inquiry Project: I-Search

Meredith Durkee- After deciding that tasting all the chocolate cookies in the Triangle would not be good for my waistline, I have moved on to an i-search project about the perfect European vacation. One of my favorite things to do is imagine where I would go if I had unlimited time and funds so now I'm going to test it out and plan the vacation I always wanted. Meredith D Inquiry Project

Zachary White- As of now, my main topic is investigating the English Civil War. I am interested in the subject and realize that it was never really taught in school. It is an example of a (temporarily) successful revolution that was eventually overthrown and the king was returned. How did this happen? What led to the success and failure of the revolution?

Bethany DeWeese - the Shakespeare authorship conspiracy. Is there any validity to it? When did it begin? What evidence is there?
